Wallpaper Trends

Wallpaper – it’s back, baby!

We’ve mentioned wallpaper a lot recently, and those available today are high quality works of art with the power to completely transform a room. Here are a few trends we’re loving.

First up are the murals. This wallpaper from JF Fabrics Antiquity collection is stunning. It’s traditional and oversized but does not saturate the entire wall. Instead it uses scale to run the length and height of the space.

Murals can also be used to represent natural materials, like brick or wood. They may even have a texture to mimic the real finish like the brick wallpaper we featured on instagram recently. The concrete one shown below is interesting, too.

We also love wallpapers with cheeky details. Look at those small bugs and insects! When done well these papers create a sophisticated, larger pattern that subtly incorporates the cheeky details.

These hidden, tone-on-tone cheeky monkeys have a design that is architectural with an unexpected, playful detail.

And, we have the watercolour trend! These papers let you use colour without a harsh pattern by blending and softening the colours. This first example is a fun play on a Rorschach inkblot test.

This wallpaper from Phillip Jeffries is a textured mural done in a watercolour style, the best of all worlds! It acts as the art in the room and references Zoe Pawlak’s style in painting abstract, colourful landscapes.

Another Phillip Jeffries wallpaper, this one gives a modern twist to a classic print. Stunning!

Are you feeling as into wallpaper as we are? Can you picture putting one of these styles in your own home?
