Here’s What I Love … faucets, sinks, and toilets oh my

Waaaay back in November, I was invited by the incomparable Veronika Miller and the Modenus team to attend the NKBA’s Kitchen and Bath Show in Orlando this year with BlogTour.  It turned out to be a whirlwind 4 days of innovation, appliances, faucets (so many faucets), sinks, cabinetry, countertops, and of course, toilets.  The unsung heroes.

Why go to KBIS?  Hmm, where to start?

IT’S HUGE:

KBIS sets the industry standard for the Kitchen & Bath industry in North America and features over 600 suppliers and brands.  Yes, SIX HUNDRED. The event is situated in 2 massive halls and over the 4 days of the show 13,000 plus attendees oooh and ahhh through the 475,00 square feet of space.  No lie.  I have the blisters to prove it.

IT’S INSPIRING :

Brands and suppliers at KBIS pull out all the stops with impeccably designed booths and eye-catching displays of their latest offerings. We get the opportunity to see new launches, previews of products still in the design phase, and to speak directly to the sales team, engineers, and brand managers. This alone is immeasurably valuable, and the design eye candy is riveting.

IT’S EDUCATIONAL:

Well, who knew? Honestly, if I said it once I said it twenty times. The pace of innovation and technology in the design industry can be hard to keep up with, one of the blessings and challenges of this work. Attending KBIS keeps us as designers informed and involved in leading edge of the revolution.

IT’S FUN:

Does that go without saying? Connections with designers from across the globe, design talks by the best in the biz, networking chats and of course the parties! Couple that with palm trees and humidity (both not found in Calgary) and you can’t go wrong.
