Creating a personal workspace

Whether it’s a home office, a homework desk, an art nook or a crafty corner, we have you covered. We’re taking a look back at some of our favourite workspace projects, and in case you’re considering revamping a space (or creating a new one) we’ll point out some tips along the way.

Consider comfort. Soothing colours, natural light and ergonomic chairs. If you want to do your best work here, it’s important to take care of yourself. And there’s no need to sacrifice style. For example, these chairs come in fantastic shades, are a great place to relax and serve as extra (amazing) seating for your company.

Storage. A drawer, cupboard or bookshelf is essential to keeping your space clutter free. This is my personal fave for a modern farmhouse, industrial or rustic office:

Decor. Every workspace needs a piece of art, a pop of colour, something to inspire you and bring life to your precious space.

A place for everything and everything in it’s place. Whether it’s a filing tray, a pen holder, a box for your laptop cables, all those little knick knacks need homes.

Brighten your day with a desk lamp. Even with plenty of natural light, a desk lamp can be useful and add a cozy ambience when the sun is hiding. For $100-200 you can find an incredible lamp that won’t break the bank.

6. Get creative with your location. Don’t have a specific room in your house to dedicate to your work? Maybe a wall will do, or even a corner. With all the functional storage solutions and beautiful little desks  out there, any space can be put to work. For more inspiration, check out our selection of office furniture and items in our store.
